Learning of Christ

Mike and I sat down the other night and talked abut what we wanted our scripture study to be about. We had a few options:

Old Testament
New Testament
Book of Mormon
Doctrine and Covenants

First, let me tell you a little bit about each:

The Old Testament is the first half of the Bible where we learn about ancient Israel. We read about the creation, Moses, Noah, Abraham, and many other great prophets of old. All of the happens in the Old Testament are before Christ.

The New Testament is during the time of Christ. The first part, know as the Gospels, are an account of his life and ministry. The later part includes the teachings and ministry of the apostles.

The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. We read it hand in hand with the Bible. It is the teachings of the people on the American Continents. After Christ's death and resurrection, he came to preach and teach the people on the American Continents.

The Doctrine and Covenants was written in modern day by revelation. It is a culmination of teachings for the Latter-day Saints.

I have read and studied all of these aspects of scripture and love them dearly. This time, we chose the New Testament. We were so excited to start reading about the life of Christ.

I have found great comfort and joy in reading about our Savior, Jesus Christ. I know that he died for me and suffered for my sins. Through his love and grace I can return to live with him and the rest of my family for eternity.
