SFL Journal #12
I did a presentation on the middle east this week. It was really interesting trying to learn more about these people.
I was sad when I realized that searches online did not bring back many positive results. After the negativity and conflict in that region the world is filled with negativity.
Most of the positive things I saw were about weddings and food. So I found a delicious hummus recipe and we went from there. I made some changes and this is the version I liked the most!
HUMMUS RECIPE
1 can chickpeas or garbanzo beans (drained, reserve liquid)
3-4 tablespoons lemon juice (depending on taste)
1 1/2 tablespoons tahini
1 clove garlic, crushed
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/4 cup liquid from can of chickpeas
Combine chickpeas, lemon juice, garlic, salt, and olive oil in blender or food processor until well mixed. Add liquid from chickpeas, and blend for 3-5 minutes. Serve with pita bread or refrigerate until ready to serve.
I served this to my classmates and it was a hit. I'm pretty picky about hummus but I love this one!
I also presented these two info-graphics about Muslim people. I found these very informative!
