Healthy Challenge - Day #1

This is DAY 1--are you as excited for this challenge as I am?? Well strap in and get ready for this and remember -- we are doing this together.

So for day 1 I wanted to give you something that will make you not run from this 30 day challenge.

We are NOT trying to diet here so if you think you can go the rest of your life without a treat then by all means don't ever have a treat again!

we like our treats, but we are going to be cutting back.
Big time!

I'm someone who loves the occasional indulgence. That word is key--occasional! Having a  treat is not a bad thing. Just make sure that occasional does not mean every day. Once or twice a week reaching for a small treat is okay but other times you are snacky just grab something healthy!

Honey is a great natural sweetener. A slice of wheat bread with peanut butter and honey will give you a great boost to battle through the rest of your day! (this is actually a "meal" my husband has to eat - a nutritionist gave it to him!)

My most difficult cut back is going to be ice cream! It's my weakness. :( However my favorite replacement it Yogurt Dots - a frozen treat that will make you forget you're not eating ice cream!

What are the treats that are going to be hard for you to cut back on?? What are some healthy replacements??

  1. I so agree with you on ice cream. But chocolate in general as well. I've tried to pick the treats that are really worth the calories as well as trying dark chocolate. It fills the craving quicker!

    1. That is a great thing. Really choosing the treats that are worth it! Everyone has their faves and the ones that will satisfy the craving. Also, the darker the chocolate the better it is for you! And more delicious!

  2. Its a good thing that we just finished our Easter candy last week! That makes this challenge a little nicer for me! :) As a replacement I will most likely turn to dried fruit.

    1. Dried fruit is great! Even better if you can make it yourself, but who really has time for that? :) What is your favorite dried fruit?

    2. I love dried pineapple, however at home I only have dried cranberries, dates, and dried apricots.

  3. I am starting today! Thanks for all your hard work, Kelsey! I love dried fruit and dark chocolate! I hope this challenge will put a little more structure in my day, so I don't end up eating whatever I can get my hands on when I get a sugar low.
