As a rule your should clean your brushes every week or two if they are used for dry make-up. If they are used for wet, consider washing every day or two.
These are two techniques I would consider using because they are easy and cheap:
- Vinegar: This is my favorite because I always have white vinegar at home. Simply mix 1 part vinegar with 2 parts warm water. Dunk your brushes for about 2 minutes and then rinse under running water. Be gentle!
- Shampoo: Apply a small dab of shampoo to your brush and message it in. Once the brush looks clean, rinse. Some say baby shampoo would be best but I usually use what I have around.
Regularly cleaning your brushes can significantly lengthen their life and give you a healthy and beautiful face with no more bacteria!
How do you clean your brushes and how often?
